A child’s first dental visit should be calm and friendly. We take time to talk with the child and parent, show the chair and instruments, and examine gently. Milk teeth matter: decay in them can cause pain and infection, and can affect the adult teeth.

Who it is for

Children from the first tooth onwards, for check-ups, cavities, toothache, fluoride application and habit advice (thumb sucking, bottle feeding at night).

What happens and how many visits

  1. First visit: introduction, a gentle examination, and advice for parents on brushing, diet and the timing of sweets.
  2. Treatment visits are kept short.
  3. Complex cases, very young or very anxious children, and children needing treatment under sedation are referred to a pedodontist (children’s dental specialist).

Aftercare

  • Brush twice a day with a fluoride toothpaste: a rice-grain smear under 3 years, and a pea-sized amount from 3 to 6 years.
  • Limit sweets and juices between meals.
  • Come for check-ups every 6 months, or as advised.

Fee

Child check-up: ₹200. Filling in a milk tooth: ₹400. Written estimate before treatment.

Frequently asked questions

Around the first birthday, or when the first tooth appears.

Decayed milk teeth can cause pain, abscess and early loss, which can affect how adult teeth come in.

We go slowly, explain in simple words and never force. If needed, we refer to a pedodontist.
